Book Growth Engine
Investment: $125,000
Typically 12-18 months.
Fully managed by New York Times bestselling writer Stephen Palmer for just 3 authors per year.

Book Growth Engine is my flagship service, built on the book producer model: you're the artist, I'm the producer who stays accountable for the whole book.
From start to finish, I'm the person who:
Strategizes your book.
Writes your manuscript.
Manages the design process.
Oversees printing and audiobook production.
Sets up distribution.
Establishes your marketing foundation.
There's no account manager between you and me. No handoff after the sale.
There's also no meter running. No allotment of interview hours, revision rounds, or working sessions.
I spend whatever time your book requires, because our engagement is governed solely by the quality of the finished book.
The first book I ever wrote, Killing Sacred Cows with Garrett Gunderson, became a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Businessweek bestseller and has sold more than 100,000 copies.
Since then, nearly every project has come through a referral from a satisfied author.
See what I do for you.
See if we’re a match.
Here's what authors say after we've crossed the finish line together:
"Stephen made the process effortless. All I had to do was show up and talk...The first book he wrote for me blew up my business. It gave me instant credibility, a flood of new leads, and took my business to a level that could not have been achieved in any other way."

"Stephen has been more than a writer for me—he has been a partner... His gift has increased my productivity and saved me hundreds of hours, and without him our book probably would not have become a New York Times bestseller."

"I am a very, very fussy customer and Stephen was amazing to work with... The end result of our writing partnership is that my book has been a top 10 bestselling book in Australia 6 months running... He just gets it."

You receive a finished, designed book in four formats:
Hardcover
Paperback
Ebook (including Kindle)
Professionally narrated audiobook
All of it professionally edited, designed, typeset, narrated and recorded, and live at the retailers that matter, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Audible.
The engagement also includes an $7,500 first-edition printing allocation. I apply it to the mix that fits your distribution plan: hardcovers, paperbacks, advance copies, and freight.
I also build your book website, which includes a complete lead generation funnel attached to a QR code in your book.
Let’s see if we’re a fit.
My growth model means we design your book deliberately from to:
Speak to, attract, and engage your ideal audience.
Generate leads via QR code offers throughout.
Convert leads into sales with automated processes.
Grow your business and make you more money.
And unlike anyone else in this industry, I don't hand you a book full of QR codes pointing at things you still have to build.
Our engagement includes your first working conversion system:
A custom five-page book website, with direct book sales built in.
One complete lead funnel: landing page, lead asset, automated follow-up, and CRM capture.
QR codes in the book pointed to that funnel.
Your Book Growth Blueprint: the complete strategy for using the book in sales, speaking, gifting, and future campaigns.
This is all built by the same person who wrote the book, so nothing gets lost between the page and the pipeline.
Ongoing marketing management, additional funnels, and campaigns are a separate engagement. But your book launches with the system it needs to start working.
You own:
The manuscript.
All rights and all royalties.
Your own publishing imprint.
Your ISBN.
Your publishing accounts.
The final print files, ebook files, and audiobook masters.
Nothing is held by my company. Nothing requires an ongoing relationship with me to use, reprint, revise, or build on.
Your book stays yours. Completely.
The same goes for your website and funnel: the design, the copy, and the lead asset are yours, and your platform account can move with you anytime.

The content we develop doesn’t just end with a finished manuscript.
You keep the working assets built along the way: your brand voice guide, your framework inventory, your story bank, and your reader and positioning foundations.
You also receive a custom AI Content Creator, built in your own ChatGPT account and trained on your voice, your frameworks, and your finished manuscript.
You and your team can use it to develop articles, newsletters, emails, social content, and speaking material for years.
It's a system you own, not a subscription to me.
All you have to do is:
Show up for interviews and talk about what you know best.
Review chapters and give honest feedback.
Make the decisions only the author can make.
The process typically a few hours a month. Everything else is my job.
Most books take 12 to 18 months, but there’s no deadline.
The pace adapts to your schedule, and I never rush your book to satisfy a production calendar. We take the time your book requires.
Your book is waiting.
Book Growth Engine is a great fit for you if:
You run an established, profitable business your book can multiply.
You have real expertise, stories, and intellectual property worth codifying.
You want the finished book, not the experience of becoming a writer.
You will participate personally and welcome honest editorial pushback.
You value excellence over speed and cost.
It's not designed for you if:
Your business, economic engine, and marketing systems aren’t sufficiently developed.
You don’t have a clear idea of what you want to say, or no content to give me.
You want to write your book yourself.
You want the cheapest route.
You want a process you can hand to your assistant.
The investment is $125,000, paid in five milestones of $25,000.
That buys my personal strategy, writing, and production of your entire book, my management of every specialist, and more than $150,000 in professional services, technology, and permanent author assets.
Mostly, it buys the one thing you can't assemble from vendors:
a single person accountable for the whole result.
I accept three authors a year. When the fit is right, I'm all in on your book.
The application takes a few minutes. I read it personally, and if the fit looks promising, we schedule a private conversation.
If it’s not the best fit for you, I’ll let you know.
Let's see if we're a fit.
Yes, and you won't have to take my word for it. You'll review chapters as they're written, so you'll hear your voice on the page long before the book is done. After 44 books, this is the thing clients mention most.
In Garrett Gunderson's words: "He captures my voice and puts it into writing in ways that I simply cannot."
The process is human-led and AI-assisted.
Your expertise is the only source. Nothing is invented. I direct the strategy, the structure, and every argument. I use AI to accelerate the heavy lifting of drafting, then I edit every line, heavily, against your voice and my standards.
Nothing reaches you that hasn't passed through my judgment.
You're not paying for typing. You're paying for 20 years of knowing what makes a book work, applied to every page. AI made manuscripts cheap. It has made judgment more valuable than ever.
Typically a few hours a month. You show up for interviews, review chapters, and make the decisions only the author can make. The on-site intensive near the beginning is the largest single commitment: at least three working days.
Everything else, from managing editors to negotiating with printers, is my job.
We work on your timeline. There's no production calendar forcing your book forward on someone else's schedule. If you need to slow down for a quarter, we slow down.
An extended pause may affect where your book sits in my working calendar, since I'm balancing a small number of active projects. But your book doesn't lose its producer.
Then we find out before you've spent a dollar. That's what the application and private conversation are for.
I only take on authors when the fit is genuinely right, because we'll spend 12 to 18 months working closely together. If I don't think we're a match, I'll tell you directly and point you toward a better option.
A traditional publisher takes your rights, most of your royalties, and one to two years of your timeline, and you still have to write the book or hire someone to.
Here, you keep everything: rights, royalties, imprint, files, and full creative control. You also keep something publishers never offer, which is one person accountable for the entire result.
Very few, and nothing hidden. The engagement is complete as described, including the $7,500 printing allocation and my travel for the on-site intensive.
The exceptions are what you'd expect: printing above the allocation, unusual production choices like full-color interiors, specialized legal or medical review if your subject requires it, and any travel beyond the included intensive. Nothing gets spent without your approval.
The one ongoing cost: your website, funnel, and CRM run on a dedicated marketing platform account. I provide it at $150 per month, about half what you'd pay for it directly, and you can transfer it or move to your own systems anytime.
More than anyone else in this industry includes. Your book launches with a working system: the book website, one complete lead funnel, QR codes wired and tracked, and your Book Growth Blueprint.
What's not included is ongoing marketing management: additional funnels, email campaigns, social media, paid advertising, PR, and launch management. Those are available as a separate engagement once your book is live.
You do. The manuscript, all rights, all royalties, your publishing imprint, your ISBNs, your accounts, and every final file, including the audiobook masters.
Nothing requires an ongoing relationship with me to use. If you never spoke to me again after delivery, your book would be entirely, permanently yours.
I read your application personally, usually within a few days. If the fit looks promising, we schedule a private conversation about your book, your business, and your goals.
I only take three authors per year.
